Dr.-Ing. Monika Jansohn received her Diplom (equivalent to Master Degree) from the Technische Universität Darmstadt in Physical Chemistry, Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Chemical Technology in 1991. In 1996, Dr. Jansohn joined Viramed as a Technical Consultant. She received her doctorate in Chemistry from the Technische Universität Darmstadt, Germany in 1997. Since 2004 she has worked as an editor for the publisher Elsevier, Spektrum Akademischer Verlag. Starting in 2009 Dr. Jansohn began working in the field of alkali-metal battery design and optimization. Dr. Monika Jansohn founded Na4B, LLC in 2012. Dr. Jansohn is the president of Na4B and is also the principle investigator on Na4B’s NSF project for developing Multilayer Ceramic Electrolyte Membrane for sodium metal-chloride electrochemical cells.
Dr. Rikard Wind has an extensive background in surface science, with particular focus on nanofabrication. He received his B.A. from the University of Colorado with a triple major in Physics, Chemistry, and Biochemistry in 1997. He received his Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry from Cornell University in 2003, where won the prestigious Wentink award for best thesis in physical chemistry. In 2003, Dr. Wind began postdoctoral research at the University of Colorado working with Dr. Steven George. In 2004, Dr. Wind became involved with Synkera Technologies. In 2013, Dr. Wind became involved with Na4B LLC and subsequently joined the company in 2014. Dr. Wind is a senior scientist at Na4B and his role is to provide both technical and entrepreneurial leadership on the development of the novel battery design.
Dr.-Ing. Wolfgang Jansohn received his Diplom (equivalent to Master Degree) from the Technische Universität Darmstadt in Mechanical Engineering in 1991. He started his professional career as a research engineer at the Institute for Material Science at the Nuclear Research Center Karlsruhe, Germany. In 1998, Dr. Jansohn joined EDAG, a global automotive engineering supplier, where he served lately as Managing Director in the US subsidary. During his career he worked in projects with large OEMs as well as start-up companies. In July 2014, Dr. Wolfgang Jansohn joined Na4B, where he is responsible to implement the corporate structure and policies needed to prepare Na4B for future growth. He contributes his experience in general management, operations, business development, and product engineering.
John Valdez has over 20 years of experience working across a range of technology companies and across all levels of manufacturing and research. For the past 15 years he has been developing, researching, and producing anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) membranes. His world-class expertise in AAO production makes him an invaluable and essential member of the Na4B team.
Scott Phillips is a veteran of product innovation, business development, marketing strategy, and entrepreneurship. He has experience across many industries and has held leadership positions with Whirlpool Corporation, Fortune Brands and Burger King Corporation. In addition to The Inovo Group, Scott has worked alongside innovation thought leaders including Strategos, Doblin, and Strategic Horizons on client engagements focused on top and bottom line growth through strategic innovation. Scott has also started three companies including The SearchLite where he is CEO and Founder. Scott received his M.B.A. from Wayne State University and his B.A. from Michigan State University.
